It has been years since we set foot in Sg Wang and if it wasn't for Gundam event that Jason would like to attend going on at the same shopping complex we might not have discover this non-halal food court.
In fact, there are many other food courts with non-halal food but what grabbed our attention was that Sg Wang management separate the non-halal and halal food into 2 food courts: Food Emporium and Big Food Street. They are on the same floor and just next to each other. However, Sg Wang tends to bias on its Food Emporium when it comes to marketing while Big Food Street didn't even get a small piece of that pie.
The marketing was that bad to the extend where Google can only returns less than 10 related results on this non-halal food court despite its opening half a year ago. There are a few entries from Chinese bloggers but mine would be the first one in English.
Not limit to local food, stalls here also provide options of Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine.
Banners with images of celebrities such as Liang WenTao (梁文韬 aka 韬韬), PSY, and also others in promoting their individual stall.
雪花叉烧云吞面(干捞) Snowflake Wanton Mee (Dry) RM7.80
Char Siew made with the streaky part of pork belly gives both smooth and chewy texture. I found it to be flavorful yet the outer surface was a bit dry to complement the juicy inner. If only it would be crispy on the outside. Mee was average but the wanton deserved a thumbs up. Too many MSG nowadays we were amazed at the complimentary chicken soup that didn't have its presence.
古早味卤肉饭 Old Time Flavor Braised Pork RM7.80
Came in big portion and that's it. Satisfied our stomach but not enough to please our tongue.
Dim Sum set of RM11 including 2 Char Siew bun(叉烧包), 3 pieces of Siew Mai(烧卖) and 2 pieces of Beancurd Skin Roll(鲜竹卷).
All prices stated above are of nett price; no government tax or service tax around here.
If you're looking for food in Sg Wang with decent environment and cheaper price, do consider this too.
