Judging from the many status updates on Facebook, HungryGoWhere has made its mark on Malaysia by setting Guinness World Records of the Longest Line of Nasi Lemak with Sunway Pyramid shoppers as witnesses last Saturday, 24th August 2013.
When asked about the choice of Nasi Lemak, Linda Foo, as director of HungryGoWhere said,"We chose nasi lemak because it is everyone’s favourite food and can be eaten at any time of the day, for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even supper." which I couldn't agree more. Not only Nasi Lemak is the most representing food of Malaysia, but it is also affordable for everyone.
She also further added that the event was held in conjunction with the official launch of its Malaysian website and mobile app.
Awesome host of the day, Jeremy Teo from Red FM.
At about 3pm, Ms Calem Valerio, as adjucator from Guinness World Records announced that HungryGoWhere, the support of SingTel Digital Media Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) has set a new record with 11, 315 packets of Nasi Lemak lined up.
She then handed the much awaited official certificate to Singtel’s CEO, Mr. Allen Lew, who represented HungryGoWhere Malaysia.
Kudos to the great team of HungryGoWhere that has been arranging those Nasi Lemak since 8.30am!
¼ cup rice, 1 slice of cucumber, half a boiled egg, a soup spoon of sambal belacan and wrapped traditional-style in banana leaves according to the Guinness World Record guidelines.
If you're wondering on the waste of such world record, rest assured that those 11,315 packets of Nasi Lemak were distributed to nearby charitable homes while the remaining was given to shoppers at the mall.
