A chemical engineering graduate, Nelissa considers herself a late starter in the industry after working in the corporate sector for almost five years. Driven by her artistic calling and fascinated by the flair that surrounds the footwear industry, she took a leap of faith and moved to Florence, Italy to study shoemaking at the Polimoda Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing.

“I have always been obsessed with shoes and how they change the allure of women. I believe that design is in everything we do, but it is also between those things – a mix of craft, science, storytelling, history, propaganda and philosophy,” said Nelissa.
